Mario Pochat is a Mexican-born graphic artist and founder of the award-winning Vancouver Animation School, the first “cloud school” in Canada. When Mario was a teenager in Mexico City, he played around with graphics and animation on his computer as a hobby. Then, at the young age of 17, Mario’s talent was recognized by a major graphic art firm, and before long, he had launched into a career that would take him around the world and eventually to Canada. Mario’s work has varied, from collaborating on blockbuster films, to designing video games, to creating short films, including the award-winning Bye Bye! (2007). Mario was awarded the 2013 Inspirational Latino Award from Latincouver, the leading Hispanic organization in Vancouver, BC, and was also recently recognized as one of the 10 Most Influential Hispanic Canadians at an event that recognizes outstanding Hispanics across the nation.
