Story

I came to Canada at the age of 16 in 1993.

I finished my high school and did the rest of my studies (college + Polytechnic school) in Montreal.

I graduated in electrical engineering in 2003. Having difficulty finding a job in my field, despite many applications, I decided to go live in Ottawa with my fiancee, where I worked at a local future shop as a salesperson, hoping to find a job as a sales engineer. After two years, I decided to be a teacher. So I applied at the faculty of education in Ottawa and got accepted. Before I finished my one year program, I was hired by a catholic school board in Windsor. There, I taught to grade 7 and 8 students for 3 years, and decided to transfer to a high school in London, ON. Now, it's been almost two years since I started to work as an education officer with the EQAO in Toronto. My functions include reporting and assessment for grade 9 math french. I am also exploring other avenues like the real estate industry. I am married for almost 10 years. My wife and I have a son who just turned 5. I have met a lot of obstacles as a young immigrant. I have always persevered and learned from each of them. I am glad to be where I am today and wish an even better future for my son.
