I'm an author and filmmaker currently working with the Multicultural Helping House Society as Media Specialist. I also volunteer with the same organization during my free time. I'm on FB, Twitter, LinkedIn & Pinterest. I also write a personal blog at email@example.com.
I came to Canada from the Philippines to work as a live-in caregiver in June 1988. While working as a live-in caregiver, I went to school at night, taking adult continuing education courses on writing and computers. I volunteered at the immigrant serving agencies on the weekends. After I get my landed status, I worked in a non-profit society that helped foreign live-in caregivers sort their labour and immigration problems. Afterwards, I worked as a news researcher at CTV Evening News. I went to Vancouver Film School to learn film making in 2001. I published my memoir in 2005, about my 3 years working as a nanny in Singapore. I currently work freelance as a writer and filmmaker, and part time as media person at the Multicultural Helping House Society. I planned my life from the very beginning because I didn't want to work in the fast food or in the service industry, because I'm basically lazy and I love books.
