Maintenant, il pratique l'acupuncture à Toronto. OMNI TV et le Canadian Immigrant Magazine lui ont consacré des reportages de fond.
My name is Richard Dong. Actually, I have a Chinese name – it’s Dong Guo Qing. I have been in Canada now for almost six years. Here, I practice the traditional Chinese medicine, like acupuncture, Chinese herbs. Magical treatments for many cancer diseases. Before I came to Canada, I was in China, Italy, and a couple of other countries. I studied traditional Chinese medicine in China at the university. I got a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree.
In 1991, I had the opportunity to go to Europe. In Europe I visited several countries, like Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Sweden, Italy, France, Netherlands, Germany. So I had many years of travel, and I worked in Europe east and Europe west. So I know… I do understand very well the Christian, Catholic religion and culture, human rights and democracy. Chinese culture is so different it was difficult to understand that.
After I worked in Europe for about seven or eight years, I decided I’d come to Canada. So in 1991 – the beginning of 1991 – I came to Canada. And when I came to Canada, in the beginning… North America and Europe were different. In Canada, there’s more freedom. In many countries they say that Canada is the best country in the world. I said, “I agree with you.” I have now been in Canada for six years. In Canada, we have opportunity. If you want to do something, you can do it. I don’t think Canada is perfect. Canada is no heaven, but I do think Canada is between the best countries in the world.
I’m very participatory in different communities, like the Chinese community, the Italian community, the English community, the Portuguese community, and the Spanish community too. And so I get a lot of customers, and I’ve cured many, many people. I’m so happy I wound up in Canada to live my life and my future. Thank you very much.
