Beatrice is originally from Guyana. She came to Canada 30 years ago and has lived in various parts of Manitoba. Adjusting to life in Canada was challenging even though English is her first language.  Beatrice is very involved in volunteer community work. She works for the Manitoba Human Rights Commission and speaks to newcomers about their rights and responsibilities.  Beatrice has two daughters.
