Loly Rico is the founder and co-director of FCJ Refugee Centre where she is in charge of the settlement programme. She is the current President of the Canadian Council for Refugees (CCR), where she also chairs the anti-trafficking sub-committee.
Recently, Loly Rico’s efforts were recognized with the Trever Bartaun award and the Award of Excellence for her dedication and compassion in working with victims of human trafficking.
As a co-director of FCJ Refugee Centre, she also received a plaque of recognition from the Salvadorean Canadian Association of Toronto (ASALCA) for her relentless work for refugee rights in Canada.
Loly Rico is the past- president of the Board of Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants, member and founder of the Coalition of Service Providers for Refugee Claimants (CSPRC).
She has been immersed in community work and has several years of experience working with newcomer women in Canada helping them on their integration in Canadian society.
